Update Huseby badet (Green light) Havstein (still on Orange)
Just want to bring you all up to date regarding the swimming pools and the new term.
Huseby badet: I am happy to say that swimming will begin next thursday morning (September 8th). I will be placing online registration on this website soon so that you can select a group most appropriate for you and your child and I will also be posting info that might be helpful. THE REGISTRATION FORM MUST WAIT TIL MONDAY AS MY ADMINISTRATOR IS SICK. There will 3 groups in week 1- I will divide the children accordingly- More groups will follow when these groups fill.
N:B NEW TIMES, I have moved all times earlier by 10 minutes
Eldest kids at 10.20 (mobile and sociable)
New beginners 3-6 months 10.50
6 months plus at 11.20
Havstein: I had a meeting earlier this week. I now know the details of the technical side (what will be done to the pool in the coming weeks to make it up to date) The tender process and installation is going to approx 6 or more weeks to complete. I am still waiting to have confirmed the days and times that I will be able to use the pool-this is important as it will determine many things:
I have shared with some folk that the pool will be a great learning environment but as is with all pools there are both challenges and advantages- One of the challenges is that the pool is too deep in its current form for baby swimming and preschool swimming (where children are very dependent on a parent/adult in the water)- My idea is to solve this by constructing a removable false bottom for the pool. Such things are expensive ca 300.000 kroner but will hugely benefit a wide range of children (and adults) using the pool. Knowing the price and numbers of hours I can use the pool I will be critical for deciding if a pool floor is financially viable- the other option is to raise the price of swimming by an amount to cover the floor- I reckon my babyswimming/parent and child swimming will be still cheaper than the Pirbadet. I have asked Trondheim kommune if they can arrange the loan for the pool floor and I pay for it monthly as part of my rental agreement (over 5 years) but this has not been approved.
Can I please ask if anyone has any ideas to get in touch with me on trondheimdolphins@gmail.com
Mvh Steve
